BRIEF STATEMENT ABOUT MY WORK
The inspiration for my work comes from the urban landscape and focuses
primarily on the physical characteristics of cities.

I am concerned with the composition of formal elements within
architectural forms, the continuous joining and dividing of space, the
juxtaposition of shapes and the contrast between colours and tones.
These initial stimuli, recorded 'on location' through digital images,
drawings and notes, form starting points from which I experiment with
ideas using a range of processes such as collage, photocopying and
computer generated image manipulation.

During the past couple of years I have developed an interest in
printmaking processes. Because print techniques and final outcomes are
different from those produced by painting I am forced to look at things in
different ways. This process stimulates new ideas and in turn feeds back
into my paintings.
