"I am a painter, printmaker and photographer, working primarily with urban and rural landscape. I work from memory using a variety of printmaking techniques, specialising in monoprint, linocut and woodcut, and various relief print methods in combination. I also make three dimensional forms from paper, which I print and paint, with text as an important part of the work. My photographs record both my immediate urban environment, and my place within it. I have recently documented the demolition of the Leeds Met University Brunswick Building and the Leeds International Swimming Pool. For many years I was involved in the conservation of buildings in Birmingham for the Victorian Society. I also documented with photography the demolition of the Birmingham Markets, and the Reference Library. My photographs celebrate both the ordinary and the extraordinary, forgotten aspects of cities and the people who make photographs come alive. I also use photography to record my work in progress.
